ANBI STICHTING MUSICK'S MONUMENT
The Stichting Musick’s Monument produces Historical Art Productions. Pictures, music and text are integrated: You will hear music from the same period and the same area of origin as the visual materials; these are supplemented with explanatory text. From this combination evolves something like a Gesamtkunstwerk (a total work of art), a complete new way of digital art presentation since 2011. MIRAKEL van AMERSFOORT 2011

On the harpsichord is partially visible the signature of the maker 'DUL [...] 1764', most likely Dulcken. The Dulkens were a Flemish family of harpsichord makers of German origin. This instrument was probably made by Joannes Daniel Dulcken (1706-1757) and signed later or made by his son Joannes (1742-1775). This is exactly the year 1764 that the painting by Jan Joseph Horemans was made on which the harpsichord is signed DUL….1764
The Musick's Monument Foundation has launched the “Dulcken, three generations of harpsichord and fortepiano builders” project.
When you say Dulcken, you say Antwerp. A famous figure, but one with a very brief biography to date.

When “Dulcken” is one of your direct ancestors, you want to tap into all sources to create an honest picture of his life. Going back to the sources means checking what others have already found, sifting through meaningful archives2* and endlessly searching for clues on untrodden paths. The result is surprising new facts about his origins, family and work. Progenitor of master instrument makers.
Hans Meijer's genealogical research into his ancestors revealed Jan Dulken, born in Hasselt. Jan Dulken's parents were J.L. Dulcken and Catrina Kooningh.
